The world is continually experiencing climate change at an increasing rate. Needless to say, climate change is hampering food production and crop growth as evidenced by scientific inquiries (Salvo, Begalli & Signorello, 2013). This situation, in turn, results in food insecurity. Not only does climate change affect food security, it also poses a threat to the livelihood of people living in most developing countries (Thakur & Bajagain, 2019), as they depend so much on the agricultural sector for employment. This situation, according to Adzawla, Baumüller, Donkoh and Serra (2020), calls for smart ways to produce enough, quality food consumption and livelihood.
